Please visit any of our five fire stations to drop off a Sharps container and/or get a new one. There is no charge for this service.

The Iona McGregor Fire District does not have a program to assist residents with their smoke detectors. We recommend calling a handyman or a certified smoke detector company to assist you with your smoke detector needs.

To make a donation, please consider donating to our Fire District’s non-profit, the Iona McGregor Firefighter Association (IMFA).

You can make a donation to the IMFA by visiting our Station 74 at 6061 South Pointe Blvd. Fort Myers, Fl 33919, M-F from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Our fire department does not dispose of prescription medications. Please take your medications to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Each Lee County Sheriff’s Office District has a Disposal Drop Box to collect unused and expired prescription and non-prescription medications during normal business hours. All medications received are incinerated, helping to protect the community and environment. Secure and anonymous Drop Box locations are located in the following locations:

  • North District – 121 Pondella Road, North Fort Myers
  • East District – 1301 Homestead Road, Lehigh Acres
  • West District – 15650 Pine Ridge Road, Fort Myers
  • South District – 8350 Hospital Drive, Suite 114, Bonita Springs
  • Central District – 14750 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers
  • Gulf District – 13921-4 Waterfront Drive, Bokeelia
    • Districts hours of operation are from 7:30am to 5:00pm
    • (Gulf District: M-F 8am – 4pm). Disposal Boxes are not accessible on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
